Terms of Service
Effective June 19, 2026
These terms govern your use of Mend (“Mend,” “we,” “us”), a WordPress-fix service operated by Champlin Enterprises. By submitting a request or buying a fix, you agree to these terms.
1. What we do
Mend fixes specific, well-defined WordPress issues for a flat, agreed price (and offers a free diagnosis and a monthly Care Plan). We work on a backup-first basis and provide a written summary of each fix. Mend is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the WordPress Foundation or Automattic; we use the WordPress name and logo only to describe the sites we service.
2. Scope, pricing & quotes
- The price shown for a fix is flat and agreed before any work begins.
- Each paid fix covers one well-defined issue. If, on diagnosis, the work is genuinely larger than a standard fix, we will tell you and provide a separate flat quote for your approval before doing that work.
- A free diagnosis carries no obligation. The Founding Fix is a free, one-time fix offered to a limited number of sites in exchange for an honest review and permission to publish an anonymized writeup.
3. The money-back guarantee
If we are unable to resolve the specific issue we agreed to fix, you receive a full refund of that fix. The guarantee covers the agreed scope only. It does not cover: work outside the agreed scope; issues caused by changes you or third parties make after we deliver; host, network, or third-party service outages; or pre-existing conditions we flagged and you chose not to address. Refunds are issued to your original payment method.
4. Access & your responsibilities
- You confirm you own the site, or are authorized to request work on it, and that doing so doesn't violate anyone's rights.
- You provide the access we need to do the work. We strongly prefer credentials shared through an encrypted one-time link, and we work backup-first — but you remain responsible for maintaining your own independent backups.
- You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us.
5. Care Plan
The Care Plan is billed monthly and you may cancel any time; cancellation stops future billing and takes effect at the end of the current period. Monthly fix credits are use-it-or-lose-it and do not roll over. Care Plan work is subject to these same terms.
6. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your full card details. You authorize the charge shown at checkout (and, for the Care Plan, the recurring monthly charge until you cancel).
7. Limitation of liability
We take care and work backup-first, but to the maximum extent permitted by law, Mend's total liability for any claim arising from a fix is limited to the amount you paid for that fix. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (such as lost revenue or data) arising from the services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Changes & governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the effective date above. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA.
